Do you think Smith ("The Wife Beater") should have spent more time in this essay on developing the cause-and-effect relationship, if any, between the "wife beater" shirt and family violence? What additional information would she have to provide?
I think he should have spent more time in the essay he could've included what others had to say about both so the full feeling of the effect can be understood.

Like most definition essays, "I Want A Life" (pg.520-523) uses several patterns of development. Which ones does it use? Which of these do you consider most important for supporting Brady's thesis? Why? The several signs of development are, the fact that he decides that he wants a wife,The fact he wants a wife to help with his everyday life. Also that his attitude about life has changed. The fact that he wants a wife is the most important for his thesis. This is important to the essay because this is what the essay is all about.

Combining The Patterns (pg.494)
A dictionary definition is a familiar - even tired- strategy for an essay's introduction. Would you advise Ericson to delete the definition in paragraph 6 for this reason, do you believe it is neccessary? Explain.
I wouldn't advise Ericson to delete the definition and it is not neccessary, because everyone has a different meaning of things.

Do you think this essay is funny? explain your reaction.
This essay is funny to me because it reminds me of when I was a child that always had an excuse. This is also funny because it relates to me in so many ways. My reaction to this was that this is the common child. I had this reaction because I was once a child that always had excuses.
